Greetings everyone! I guess my first post should include a little bit about my goals for this blog. A sort of: "How to use this book" section, if you will. So, here goes nothing:
Purpose: Through this blog, I will share my recipes (both successful and less-than-successful; I never "fail" in the kitchen) in both words and, when I can, pictures. I don't have a hi-tech camera or photography training, but perhaps that hides in my future.
Scope: Though I prefer to bake, I'm not going to limit myself to baked goods. You might find a few "off-subject" entries here, but overall, I suspect the content of this blog will have a strong bias toward the following "buzz-words": cookies, cheesecakes, layered cakes, ANYTHING chocolate, peanut butter, and lemon. :)

Style: Like the scientist that I am, I plan to format my entries in "laboratory notebook" style, that is:
- Purpose - The objective of the baking adventure
- Materials & Methods - My ingredient list and a step-by-step set of instructions
- Results - The resulting product: how it tasted, any opinions I receive on it, and pictures if at all possible
- Discussion - What I struggled with, what I would change, and any variations I think of while working
Well, that's all for this entry. I hope to post regularly, and since I'm entering the homestretch of my dissertation work, I will most certainly need an outlet for the stress. :)
